Dear Maine Indian Education Community,
Welcome back! As we begin another academic year together, I am thrilled to reconnect with our incredible staff, students, families, and community members who make Maine Indian Education the special place it is.
To our dedicated educators and support staff: Welcome back to what I know will be another academic year of inspiring teaching and meaningful connections with our students. Your commitment to excellence and cultural responsiveness continues to be the foundation of everything we accomplish together.
To our amazing students: Welcome back! Whether you are returning to familiar classrooms or stepping into new learning environments, know that each of you brings unique gifts and perspectives that enrich our entire community. We are excited to support you as you continue growing academically, culturally, and personally.
To our families and community members: Welcome back to an active partnership in education. Your involvement, wisdom, and support are essential to our students' success. We look forward to deepening our collaboration this semester.
As we settle back into our routines, I want to reaffirm our shared commitment to serving the children of our Wabanaki communities with excellence and cultural pride. The relationships we build, the traditions we honor, and the futures we shape together remain at the heart of our mission.
This academic year, we continue advancing our key priorities: strengthening Wabanaki Studies integration, expanding our Blended Learning opportunities, and enhancing our Multi-Tiered Student Support System (MTSS). These initiatives, combined with our dedicated staff and supportive families, create the foundation for student success.
My rotating office days at each school will continue this academic year, as they have provided invaluable opportunities to connect directly with our school communities. I look forward to spending time with staff and students, learning from each school's unique culture, and ensuring our leadership remains closely connected to the daily experiences of our students and educators.
Together, we remain committed to our vision of "Communities Committed to Learning through Rigor, Relevancy, and Relationship." This vision guides everything we do as we work to ensure every student reaches their full potential while maintaining strong connections to their cultural heritage.
Welcome back to what promises to be an outstanding academic year. I am honored to serve alongside each of you in this important work.
With warm regards and excitement for the journey ahead,
Dr. Reza Namin
Superintendent
