Dear ITS Families,
Welcome back to another school year at Indian Township School! I hope everyone had a summer filled with time together, rest, laughter, and opportunities to enjoy our community. There is something special about the start of a new school year—the halls become busy again, classrooms come alive, and most importantly, we get to welcome our students back where they belong.
Our first day of school is Monday, August 31! Before then, we would love to see our families at our Open House on Thursday, August 27, from 3:00–5:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity for students and families to come in, meet teachers, visit classrooms, reconnect with friends, and get ready for the year ahead. We hope you will join us!
As we begin this year, I want to emphasize how important attendance is to our students' success. Every day a student is at school is another day to learn, connect, build relationships, participate in cultural experiences, and be part of our school community. We know that getting to school every day is not always easy, and we want to work with families—not against them—to help remove barriers and make sure our students are here and ready to learn. Every day matters, and every student matters.
We will also continue with our Friday early-release schedule this year. This time is important for our staff to work together, reflect on student needs, plan instruction, and continue building a strong school program. We appreciate your continued support of this schedule.
Most of all, I am genuinely excited to have our students back at ITS. Our school is at its best when our classrooms are full, our students are learning and laughing, and families and staff are working together. I am looking forward to the many accomplishments, challenges, celebrations, and memories we will share this year.
I also want to extend a personal invitation to every ITS family: please stop in and see us anytime. You do not need a special reason or an appointment just to come say hello, check in, or see what is happening at school. This is your school. You are part of this community, and you are always welcome here.
