Molly

Greetings Students and Families,

As we move through the 2025-2026 school year, I want to share some encouraging updates about our students' progress and our continued focus on the goals we set at the beginning of the year.

Celebrating Our Students' Reading Success

I'm proud to report that our students are making meaningful strides in reading achievements. Our recent assessment results show that 67% of our third-grade students and 45% of our fourth-grade students are meeting state expectations in reading. This represents the dedication of our students, families, and teachers working together. We're particularly celebrating some of our students who have demonstrated exceptional reading achievement.

Our focus on academic engagement continues to show positive results, especially in literacy. When students are actively participating in their learning, we see real growth, and our reading outcomes reflect this commitment.

Strengthening Our Three Core Goals

Academic Engagement: We continue prioritizing active student participation in learning. The evidence is clear that high levels of engagement keep students on track academically and help them excel in all aspects of school life. Our reading success demonstrates what's possible when students, families, and teachers work together with this shared focus.

Wabanaki Studies Integration: We're making significant progress in weaving Wabanaki history, language, arts, and traditions throughout our curriculum. This culturally responsive approach helps our students connect with their rich heritage while strengthening their academic foundation. We continue to welcome community elders, cultural knowledge keepers, and parents to share their expertise as we deepen this important work.

Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support (PBIS): Our commitment to creating a safe, respectful, nurturing environment remains strong. Positive experiences support long-term academic success, and we see this reflected in our students' growth and confidence.

Areas for Continued Growth

While celebrating our reading achievements, we recognize that mathematics requires our focused attention. We're implementing targeted intervention programs and working closely with families to support students who need additional math support. Every student deserves to succeed in all subject areas, and we're committed to providing the resources and instruction necessary to make this happen.

Partnership with Families

Your involvement in your child's education remains essential to our success. The strong home-school partnership we've built contributes directly to the positive outcomes we're seeing. Please continue to communicate with your child's teacher, our school counselor, or me about anything that may impact your child's success or focus.

Looking Ahead

As we continue through this school year, we remain committed to building on our reading success while strengthening mathematics instruction. Our Wabanaki studies program continues to grow, and our positive school environment supports all learning.

If you have questions about academics, transportation, our Wabanaki studies program, or any of our initiatives, please contact me at school. Together, we're creating an educational experience that honors our students' heritage while preparing them for future success.

Respectfully,

Molly Newell
