The Maine Impact Education Fellowship kicks off with an inspiring opening session designed to ground fellows in our mission: to grow, strengthen, and diversify Maine's educator workforce so that every school is equitable, welcoming, and inclusive.

We are honored to welcome Dr. Reza Namin, Maine Indian Education Superintendent, as a keynote panelist for this opening session. Dr. Namin brings exceptional leadership and a profound commitment to educational equity to our fellowship community.

Recently nominated for the prestigious 2026 Maine Superintendent of the Year Award by the Maine School Superintendents Association (MSSA), Dr. Namin has demonstrated outstanding dedication to advancing equity and excellence through culturally responsive educational practices. He currently leads the Passamaquoddy, Penobscot, and Wabanaki Schools, working collaboratively with three separate school committees to advance equitable student learning across Maine's Indigenous communities.

Dr. Namin's contributions to education have earned him national recognition, including induction into the National Superintendents Association's Hall of Fame and the Massachusetts Teachers Association Hall of Fame. He is also a recipient of the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Teaching Mathematics and Science and was named a Massachusetts Teacher of the Year nominee.

During the keynote panel, Dr. Namin and fellow education leaders will share their lived and professional experiences, offering inspiration and insight to help fellows begin their journey toward becoming equity-centered leaders and catalysts for sustainable impact in Maine schools.
